General Info

Located in the heart of Shibuya, Tokyo, Risotto Curry Standard offers a cozy, vibrant atmosphere where Italian and Japanese culinary traditions come together to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Situated on the B1F of the Shibuya Sakuragaokacho Building, this Italian restaurant serves a delightful range of dishes, but it is particularly celebrated for its signature risotto curry-a must-try for anyone visiting.

The star of the menu at Risotto Curry Standard is, without a doubt, their リゾット カレー が 絶品 (Risotto Curry). This dish combines the creamy, comforting texture of traditional Italian risotto with the spicy, robust flavors of Japanese curry. The result is a harmonious blend that’s both rich and satisfying, making it a crowd favorite. Whether you’re a risotto enthusiast or a curry lover, this dish offers the best of both worlds.

Another dish that has gained attention is their 生ハム (Prosciutto). Served as a light appetizer, the delicate, salty flavor of the prosciutto pairs beautifully with a glass of wine. Speaking of which, Risotto Curry Standard boasts an impressive wine list, ensuring that every meal is complemented by the perfect drink. From crisp whites to bold reds, the selection caters to all tastes, adding a sophisticated touch to your meal.

For those seeking a little more indulgence, the カツレツ (Crispy Cutlet) is another standout. It’s perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, offering a delicious contrast of textures. If you're looking for something a bit more unique, the ナスのバルサミコ酢マリネ (Balsamic-Marinated Eggplant) provides a sweet and tangy kick, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Aside from the fantastic food, Risotto Curry Standard also offers a warm, welcoming environment that goes beyond just great food. The counter service allows for an intimate experience, with the chefs preparing your meal right before your eyes. It’s perfect for those who enjoy watching the culinary process unfold.

One of the standout aspects of this restaurant is its commitment to inclusivity, providing a safe space for transgender individuals. The restaurant is designed to ensure that everyone feels comfortable, creating an inviting atmosphere for all. Additionally, they accept PayPay, making it convenient for those who prefer cashless transactions.

Whether you’re a local resident or a visitor to Tokyo, Risotto Curry Standard is a place you’ll want to add to your list. The combination of delicious food, a great wine list, and a warm, inclusive environment makes it a gem in Shibuya. With its unique fusion of Italian and Japanese flavors, this restaurant continues to attract both foodies and casual diners alike. So, the next time you're in the area, make sure to stop by for a meal that promises to be both satisfying and memorable.

What customers say?

“ Food was super tasty. Had some salami, the risotto curry, and shrimp and mushroom ajillo. Everything was tasty, especially the namesake risotto curry. Wide variety of different wines all available by glass or bottle. Nice atmosphere. And I don't know about the people who complained about the staff. Both of the men working while I was there were attentive and sociable. I didn't feel rushed in any way, any time I wanted to order or get another glass of wine it only took a moment, the check was produced quickly after I asked for it. Absolutely no problems in service at all. They are literally always standing within earshot of you, so if you need something you would only need to ask. Sure the food doesn't fly out super quickly but this is the type of place I don't see running to for a thirty minute dinner. It's a place to go and enjoy some wine and food, relax, and enjoy yourself. Would highly recommend and plan on returning myself. ”

“ My boyfriend and I are visiting from NYC and honestly this was the best food we’ve had in Japan. The menu is in Japanese so we panic-ordered a few things (thank god for Google Translate ), but everything was soooo good that we debated ordering more . The uni bruschetta was amazing and the risotto curry was unreal. There are only two people working — the chef and a female bartender/server — and they were both incredible. She was super courteous and the chef is clearly amazing. Huge props to them . ”

“ A fantastic Curry! I love the use of Risotto, and the energy of the place is amazing as well. It is a little on the slow side, so make sure you have plenty of time, but if you are with a friend or a loved one, the slowness brings an opportunity to talk and connect! ”

“ I really enjoyed the food here. Everything I had was delicious. I didn’t think I’d enjoy Uni on bruschetta so much It’s a small place with cozy atmosphere. I’m from New York, and we have pretty good Italian food. This is definitely up there for me! I would expect a slower paced meal for sure. Expect time in between dishes, but that leaves time to converse and connect. I think we spent about approximately an hour and a half there. Maybe a little more. Definitely have to come back ”

“ March, 2023 One of my favorite spot at Shibuya I wonder why these are always good looking chef working these type of bistro? They used to be 3 staff but now only one chef operates everything The foods quality are still good and always packed That tells all =============================== Since my friend introduced this small wine bistro, this place is also become my choice list at Shibuya. It’s used to be working 3 people but now 1 chef operates everything so it takes time to receive your order. Meaning? The wine gone fast.. I joined after year end company party still finish 2 bottles. Oops.. ”
